Obituary of Barbara J. Colquhoun

Barbara J. (Keller) Colquhoun, age 86, of Rome, passed away September 21, 2021, at the St. Luke’s Home.

She was born September 1, 1935, in Rome, a daughter of the late John W. and Anna M. Bielawski Keller, and graduated from Rome Free Academy.  Barbara was united in marriage to Robert Colquhoun on May 28, 1955, in St. Peter’s Church, a blessed marriage of 50 years; he died on December 19, 2005.  She was a dedicated employee of the CNYDSO in Rome, where she received the “Employee of the Month Award “.  She retired as a supervisor after 34 years of dedicated and compassionate care to the disabled.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Church.

Barbara is survived by her loving daughter and son in law, Virginia and Frank Wenz of Marcy; a brother, Michael Keller of Rome; grandchildren, Frank and Tracey Wenz, Mike Wenz, and Brandon and Kelly Wenz; and great grandchildren, Dylon, Garett, Bella, Kiera, Colin and Maeve.  She was predeceased by sisters, Patricia Murray, Jackie Keller, Margaret "Peggy" Keller.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 Noon to 2 PM, prior to the funeral service.
