Obituary of Dakotah S. Wilson

Dakotah S. Wilson, age 19, of Rome, passed away on May 12, 2021, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

 He was born April 28, 2002, in New Hartford, the son of Sherry Wilson and Trevor Wiggins, and graduated from Oriskany Central School.  He was employed at Tri-County Heating and Air Conditioning and STaR Volunteer Ambulance service.

 Dakotah loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.  He was very proud that he was very close to receiving his EMT certification and enjoyed serving on the ambulance corps.

 Dakotah is survived by his loving mother, Sherry Wilson and Matt Thompson; grandparents, Don and Linda Wilson of Rome; a sister, Aleah Deeley of Rome; and aunts and uncles, Yvonne and Rob Piperata of N. Utica, and Todd and Maryrose Wilson of Floyd; and many beloved friends including Vitoria, Kayden, Josh, Connor, and Brooke.

 Dakotah’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

 Relative and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 PM. Those attending are required to have a facial covering and adhere to the social distancing guidelines.
