It is with much sadness we write that Joel Darley, age 53, who resided at IRA 1 in Rome, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020.  He was surrounded by his loving housemates and staff.  Joel was born in Cairo, Georgia on August 13, 1966 to Joel Darley and Kathleen (Underwood) Darley.

Joel enjoyed the company of friends and staff at IRA 1 and Copper City Day Hab, with a bright and contagious smile, especially when being mischievous.  His humorous personality led to him being the center of attention which he enjoyed.  He stole the hearts of everybody he met.  Joel will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Joel is survived by his friends at IRA 1 and Copper City Day Hab, Rome.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the spring.
