Obituary of Frank A. Strange
Frank A. Strange, age 87, of the Town of Lee, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2019.
Frank was born in Rome on January 7, 1932, to the late Felix and Mildred Coppola Strange, and graduated from Rome Free Academy. On October 2, 1954, he was united in marriage to the former Sally Kinney. Frank worked as a criminal investigator and security specialist for Griffiss AFB.
Frank played varsity football for Rome Free Academy and love sports, especially following the New York Giants and the New York Rangers. Frank had a great sense of humor and had an outstanding ability to make people laugh.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Sally; his daughters, Karen Strange and her husband, Robert Kelly of Sauquoit, and Sandra (Kevin) Kieffer of Fairport, NY; two sons, Michael Strange of Rome, and Jere (Lynetta Sue) Strange of Millville, NJ; three grandchildren, Neal (Bethany), Patrick (Jennie), and Samantha; two great grandchildren, Connor and Hannah; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine Dunlap and Katie Cania; and a brother, Nick Strange.
A graveside service will be held at Rome Cemetery in the spring.
Memorial contributions in Frank’s name may be made to the Jervis Public Library or St. Paul’s Church Memorial Fund.
