Helen G. Chilkotowsky, age 91, of Rome, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2019, with her loving family at her side.

She was born December 6, 1927, in Rome, a daughter of the late Alexander and Josephine Podolec Yaworski.  She graduated from the Rochester School of Nursing at Rochester General Hospital as a Registered Nurse.  Helen was united in marriage to Stanley M. Chilkotowsky, on May 12, 1962, in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church.  She was a proud, dedicated and caring registered nurse and formerly worked at the Oneida County Hospital, Rose Hospital, Stonehedge Nursing Home and Family Home Care, retiring in 1996.  She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Helen was a member of the Ukrainian Club Women’s Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and several women’s bowling leagues throughout the years.  Helen was immensely proud of all her family.  She leaves behind numerous memories and will never be forgotten for all the love and compassion she shared.

Helen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Stanley; three daughters and sons I law, Mary Lou and Michael Alguire of Rome, Laura and William Fleck of Rome, and Carol and John Pettinelli of Camillus; a son and daughter in law, Paul A. and Francine Chilkotowsky of Rome; grandchildren, J.J. Kennedy, Paul Chilkotowsky, Sarah and Jake Pohl, Amy, Mary Joe and Jamie Fleck, Derek and Dylan Pettinelli and Sierra Alguire; and a great granddaughter, Macie Pohl.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Marie Byrnes and Stella Charny; and a brother, Mayfred Yaworski.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bethany Gardens, for the wonderful care given to Helen during the time she resided there.
