Obituary of Virginia Lee Ackerman

Virginia L. Ackerman, age 70, of Taberg, went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2013.
Ginny was born on May 8, 1943 in Rome, to the late Roy and Doris Hoige MacDonald. She graduated from Rome Free Academy. On June 4, 1976, she married Dennis Ackerman.
Ginny was an active member of the Resurrection Life Church and a member of the Lee Center Women's Auxiliary. She was also the town of Lee historian and published a book entitled "Town of Lee." She was an avid lover of animals. She was also a well versed crafter and loved crocheting.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband, Dennis; five daughters and a son, Joni Monney of Nashville, TN, Lynn Money of Cincinnati, OH, Dori Scull of Inglis, FL, Terry and Randy Holmes of Camden, and Susi Evanson of Dayton, OH; a son and daughter in law, Dana and Kelli Money of Minneapolis, MN; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Roy "Butch" MacDonald, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Tuesday at 7PM.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rome Humane Society.
