Henrietta "Penny" J. Keener Town of Lee Henrietta "Penny" J. Keener, age 87, passed away peacefully, November 9, 2011. She was born May 13, 1924, in Amsterdam, NY, the daughter of Harry and Mary Pieklowski Johnson, and educated in Utica schools. Penny was married to Anthony Lupinski; he died in 1951. She later married William Keener, on November 30, 1957, in St. Agnes Church in Utica; he died February 13, 1992. She served as a manager in food service for the Rome City School District, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Lee Center, the St. Joseph's Women's Club, Lee Unity Seniors, Lee Senior Walkers and South Rome Seniors. Penny is survived by a daughter, Lynn D. Keener of Slingerlands, NY; and her Godson, David Dyvas of Amsterdam, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church in Lee Center. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Sunday 2 to 4 PM.
