Obituary of Sandra K. Flint

Sandra K. Flint, age 62, of Rome, passed away peacefully, June 21, 2013, with her loving family at her side. Sandra was born December 1, 1950, in Rome, the daughter of Hubert L. and Marion Lawton Jones, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1968. Sandra was employed by B.N.Y. Mellon in Oriskany and formerly worked at Fraternal Composite Service in Yorkville. She was a former member of Delta United Methodist Church. Sandra enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, tending to her flowers and other gardens around her home and photography. However, one of her greatest passions was cheering for the New York Giants football team. Sandra is survived by her father, Hubert; daughters, Laurie Gualandi of Rome, and Kelley Flint of Sylvan Beach; a son and daughter in law, Martin and Julie Flint of Remsen; two brothers, Wilbur Jones of Rome, and Philip Jones of Lee Center; grandchildren, Justina, Janelle and Joel Gualandi, Bret Flint, Taylor Mendoza, Cameron Raux, and Brandon and Zachary Flint; and long-time partner, Stanley Oleniuch; and nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral Home, Tuesday 4 to 7 PM, prior to the funeral service. The family sincerely thanks the staffs of the Rome Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit and 2 East for their care, compassion and friendship extended to Sandra during her illness.
