Bruce D. Withrow, age 68, of Rome, passed away suddenly on October 28, 2012, while getting ready to attend his wife's (Catherine Withrow) funeral service. He was born May 28, 1944, in Milwaukee, WI, a son of Curtis L. and Irene Krumbach Withrow, and educated in Milwaukee schools. Bruce was united in marriage to the former Catherine Koberstein; she died October 25, 2012. He was employed as a property manager in Edison, New Jersey, retiring years ago. Bruce proudly served in the USMC, and served in Vietnam. Bruce was devoted to his wife, Catherine, and his family. Along with Catherine he was a dedicated volunteer for the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Bruce is survived by a daughter, Donna Frye of Rome; three sons and two daughters in law, David Withrow of Rome, Curtis Withrow and Crista Rothe of Rome, and Gary and Bobbie Withrow of Kingsport, TN; two sisters, Elizabeth Schmaltz of Milwaukee, WI, and Bonnie Krakowski of Rockaway, NY; a brother, Curtis Withrow; and 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude Holp and two brothers, Jack and Charles Withrow. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1:30 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
