Fred Parker
Fred Parker, 81, of Rome, passed away February 25, 2011, after brief illness.
He was born June 14, 1929, in Town of Lee, a son of Alfred L. and Lena M. Kirk Parker. He was educated in Rome Schools. Fred was united in marriage to Dorothy Van Court. He worked as a Dispatcher at GAFB and as a Security Guard at Rome Memorial Hospital. Fred served time in the US Army.
Fred is survived by five sons and four daughters in law, Kenneth and Rosie Parker of Louisville, KY, Dale and Amy Parker of Rome, Gerald and Julia Parker, of Blossvale, Michael and Christina Parker of Rome and Nathan Parker of Greenville, NY; two daughters and one son in law, Sharon Zurawski of Kearny, NJ and Patricia and Walter Sickles of Rome, a daughter in law, Karen Parker, and several grand and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Frederick Parker.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4:00 PM, immediately following calling hours at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
