Julia C. Kroviak
Rome, NY
Julia Czyscon Kroviak, 87, of Rome, was reunited with her beloved husband Larry and entered into the arms of heaven on November 26, 2010, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rabka, Poland in January 1923, the third daughter of Walenty and Stefanie Miskowiec Czyscon. She emigrated to the United States as a very young child.
Julie was educated in Rome schools and was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, Class of 1942. On June 22, 1946, in Transfiguration Church in Rome, she was united in marriage to Lawrence J. Kroviak, a blessed and loving union until his passing on December 27, 2009.
Julia is survived by her three children, Lawrence M. (Bud, Larry) and Mary Margaret Jackson, both of Durham, NC, and Christal Benedict of Rome. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Larry Alan Jackson of Chapel Hill, NC, Christopher Jackson and Jennifer Jackson of Durham, NC, and Richard Benedict of Rome. Also surviving is her sister and brother in law, Emily and Bob Chernosky of East Syracuse as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Edward and Stanley Czyscon, Helen Duda and Mary Wojdyla.
Julie retired from Rome Cable in 1986, as a Sales Correspondent, and worked there for over twenty-five years. She was member of the Rosary Society and the St. Cecelia Choir of Transfiguration Church, and the South Rome Senior Citizens.
The children would like to especially acknowledge Pat Roper, our parents' caregiver, who will always be part of our family. We would also like to thank the staff of the 3rd floor at Bethany Gardens, as well as Dr. Tallim, Dr. Podkowka, Dr. Tarouk, Dr. Potluri, Dr. Moza, Dr. Muakassa, Dr. Gullo, Dr. Schicker, Dr. Mapara and Dr. Okonkwo for the wonderful care and support given Julie and her family in their time of need. We are forever grateful for the compassionate and excellent care provided by the staff of 2-East at Rome Memorial Hospital. You all made Mom's last days full of comfort and love which we will remember always.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 29, 2010, at 9:45 AM, from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, and 10:30AM at Transfiguration of Our Lord Church, 111 Ridge Street in Rome. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
