Dave was one of my best friends. I spent many evenings laughing and debating with one of the most intelligent and passionate people I have ever met. We fought like brother and sister, but that only made us closer.
I could share my deepest most thoughts with him and he always accepted me in a non judgmental way.
Dave was so generous, caring and spontaneous.
When I had my neck surgery he bought me a special pillow to use; so it wouldn't hurt so much.
I bought him a Red Sox & Yankee Checkers game one year for him for XMAS and he actually asked me if he could give it to Sean… ( who asks?…)
One National Meeting, My Rep Martha, Dave and I were walking the beach after dinner. We were staying at the Ritz. He organized the meeting. It was a beautiful night and we were walking with our feet in the water. Dave said this is so warm we should go for a swim. Martha and I said we don't have our suits…but he convinced us to all go in the water with our clothes on. It was great fun. Then the three us (Drenched, sandy and salty) walked back into the lobby of the Ritz. We laughed till it hurt.
I will miss Dave forever. I will always love him. And I now know that I have his wonderful family and friends to love too.. Thank you.
Always,
Angela (aka Ange)

God's Loan - Poem - by Krista Burell posted a condolence

"I'll lend to you for a little time, A child of mine," He said, "For you to love the while he lives And mourn for when he's dead. "It may be six or seven years Or twenty-two or three, But will you till I call him back, Take care of him for me? "He'll bring his charms to gladden you And should his stay be brief, You'll have these precious memories As solace for your grief. "I cannot promise he will stay Since all from earth return. But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn. "I've looked this world over, In my search for teachers true. In the crowds that throng life's land, I have selected you. "Now will you give him all your love Not think the labour vain, Nor hate me when I come to call To take him back again?" It seems to me I heard them say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done. For all the joys a child shall bring, The risk of grief we'll run. "We'll shelter him with tenderness, We'll love him while we may, And for the happiness we've known Forever grateful stay. "And should the angels call for him Much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes And try to understand." "Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them; for such is the Kingdom of God." Mark 10:14

I want to express my sympathies to the Nowak family for their sudden loss. I was traveling on business the week of the arrangements and was unable to get to Rome to express my sympathies in person. I had the opportunity to get to know Dave while working together at Campbell Soup. We became good friends. Dave had a circle of good friends at the company. Whenever possible, our core friends would travel together and hang out together at company meetings. I can still see Dave belly laughing after playing a joke on one of us. I remember the ever increasing lime slices in my Corona bottles, the tiny beer glass for Linda, the “Snodgrass reservations for two” announcement for Ann. It was always good natured ribbing from Dave. Dave was a big guy, but I never once saw him bully anyone. In fact, it was the opposite. He was always asking how he could help you. It was a privilege to know Dave and to call him friend. Dave will be greatly missed by his friends in New Jersey.

I miss his pout when he accidentally inverts a pizza in the far corner of the oven as he attempted to remove it. The mess was hysterical. Hi pout was priceless!!

At the time of our 25th class reunion at RCH I was living in Colorado, was between jobs while taking a college course and my finances were slim. I had regretfully expressed to those collecting RSVPs that I wouldn't be able to attend the reunion and somehow word got around to Dave and he unselfishly extended his spare Frequency Flyer Miles to accommodate me with a round trip airline ticket to Syracuse from Denver so that I could attend our 25th reunion! David is kind and respectful to everyone. It's not too often that someone will help another person out without expecting something in return. He told me, not to 'make a big deal about it', that it really was nothing, to just enjoy the reunion because it's good to be here with everyone. I'll never forget Dave's selfless act. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by many -we need more David's in the world.

As one of Dave's SDM at Campbells, he would have a quarterly review with us off site. If some one on the team forgot something that was said at the meeting, Dave's comment would always be, "Guys we talk about this in (whatever city we had been it). This become a common statement among the team members.
