To the entire family, you don't know me and have never seen me before because I took care of Barbara on the night shift on 2 East. I always enjoyed talking with her when she could not sleep. No matter what she was going through, she ALWAYS had a smile on her face. There are very few that touch our hearts like she did and we all are very saddened to know that she is no longer with us. I know she is watching over all of you, as she spoke of her family so often. God Bless.

My earliest memory of Mrs. Heilig was the very first time I entered the Library at Westmoreland High. I was a brand new freshmen student and scared to death that I would get yelled at for talking in the library. I sat down at a table, took a book out and began to study. I remeber the study period was 45 minutes long, and it was extremely difficult for me to keep my mouth shut during that time. I heard Mrs. Heilg warn several students of "dire consequences" that would happen if she caught them talking again. When the bell rung for the end of the period, I collected my books, pushed my chair in, and headed for the door. Mrs. Heilig came and stood next to me at the door, she told me that I was the first freshman student that ever came into her library and never spoke a word. She said if I would consider it, she would like me to work as a library aide during my free period. I was so overwhelmed, I told her right then and there that I would love to. We enjoyed a very pleasant relationship until I graduated and for even a while after. I will always be fond of the lady that surprised me that day and she will always have a very special place in my heart.

My condolences go out to the family of Barb. I have known the Heilig family for about 40 yrs - we camped at the same campground for many years when I was growing up. Barb and my mother were friends and I hung out with Bob, Barbs son. Many years have come and gone, but the fun times at camp will always remain a fond memory. And Barb is such a big part of those childhood memories. She will be greatly missed.

Dear Terry, Bill and Family, We were so sorry to hear about your mom. Even though we know we cannot live forever here, we somehow are never really prepared for the moment of loss. Our hearts, prayers and love go out to you all. She did get to see her grandson and his bride on their wedding day, and you have to know that that brought her great joy. May your memories and love shared be a comfort to you. (Consider yourselves hugged.) Our love and prayers, Sharene, George, and Family
