Even after all of these years I still miss Bill. He was a great guy to work with. I worked with him at Midstate, Sing Sing and at Marcy. He is sorely missed. Steve Pfranger.

My sympathy to the wife and family of William Barnard. Although I did not personally know him he was related to me thru both his Barnard and Sexton families. Losing such a young husband is indeed a very sad occasion.

Just learned of this sad news on Friday. Bill was one of my best friends growing up through junior high and high school. I have so many fond and vivid memories of our times together. He was a warm, sincere, fun-loving and caring individual who I am sure left his mark on a lot of people. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you Sandy and to the rest of the family. He is in a better place. Sandy, I will contact you after things settle down.

SANDY: I was so shocked to hear of your husband Bill's passing. So many people tied together by neighborhood and disease. I did not hear of Bill's death until after the fact. I am so sorry that you & Amy and Claire have had to go through this sadness. I know you have a very loving family and will place your well being in their hands. God Bless! Mary Carmody

Sandy...I tried to send a message last week, but don't know if it went through. I am so very sorry for your loss and believe with all my heart that our loved ones are waiting for us to finish our purpose on this earth. We just have to do so without them, which is the hard part. Please know you are in my thoughts.

God Speed Bill....you were a good man, a tremendous supervisor, but above all else, you were a kind and gentle soul. May your family find solace in their time of sorrow. You touched so many with your unique blend of humor, compassion and at times your stern resolve.

I hate it when relatives die. I hate it even more when they die so young. I can still remember Aunt Sadie talking about Billy and Joanie. She was very proud of you. The last time I saw Billy was when I came back from Vietnam over 40 years ago. He was a nice person. I left Rome, never really returned and lost contact with a lot of family and friends. That's a big loss on my part. I hope Billy had a great life and generated thousands of positive memories that people will cherish for years to come.
