To the family and friends of Blair - My heart goes out to you. I'd like to share the following poem I wrote just for those who gave their lives for us. My prayer is that it will comfort you. It is: FALLEN HEROES - From the day I was conceived God had for me a plan - He wanted me to get involved to help my fellow man - I know some were against it but God knows what is best - Since the day He took me home I've had perfect rest - Heaven is so beautiful I'm walking streets of gold - Now I'm serving others including saints of old - I know some still have anger about the way I died but God and I both have seen the many tears you've cried - He is a God of comfort His love will never cease - Give your feelings to Him and He will give you peace - As difficult as I know it is please don't hold a grudge - Remember this my loved ones God alone will judge - Then on that resurrection day when all the dead will rise - The Lord will reunite us together in the skies - So don't give up my friends - My memory is still alive - Put your trust in the Lord and I know you will survive.

I am a former Roman and as I read the news of Blair's passing in this morning's edition of the Orlando Sentinel, I experienced mixed emotions. One and even though I didn't know Blair or even his family, the feeling of overwhelming sadness for the loss of such a young life. I also felt great pride in that one of my home town young men had the courage to stand up and face the devil straight in the face in protection of the time tested freedoms that so many others faced and died for on our behalf. God Bless his soul and I pray the Lord's peace for his family that we know passes all understanding. I would like to offer from The Book of Wisdom, Chapter 4, 13 Having become perfect in a short while, he reached the fullness of a long career 14 for his soul was pleasing to the LORD, therefore he sped him out of the midst of wickedness. But the people saw and did not understand, nor did they take this into account. Seminole County Judge Carmine M. Bravo Faithful Admiral Knights of Columbus St. Patrick Assembly #2883

To the Family of Blair Thompson, No words can express the sympathy I have in my heart for your son and your family. I do not know any of you, however, to lose such a beautiful young man, is devastating. My son Ryan Chrobak, just graduated Officer Candidate Shool in the USMC, and as much as this is what he wants to do, I am frightened. Please know you have many people, even strangers that are praying for all of you. With warmest regards, Debra Chrobak Graziano

I will always remember that smile of yours with those Rose red cheeks, If i close my eyes I can see it and it makes me laugh and smile, it helps me get through the day thinking about how happy you alway were. I tried convincing him not to go for as long as I could but Blair, he had his mind made up and there was no changing it, I will always remember that day i asked but Blair why do you want to go there so bad, his response was that it's what he wanted to do and what he felt like he was meant to do and i could tell by the look in his eyes, it was. I will always remember that one summer when we were best friends, we saw each other everyday and everyday it was something new he wanted to do or try and of course he some how got the rest of us to go along with him. I will always remember how I could count on him to make a bad day better by making me laugh or just seeing him smile. I am honored to say I got to know Blair & be close to him, i will never forget what he did for us back home and will cherish the memories forever in my heart. Blair you are my hero and the bravest person I know. Love & Miss you.

I hadn't seen Blair in a long time since elementary/middle school but I'll never forget when I did. It was at one of his going away parties his friend had for him and at first I thought he was someone else so I went over all crazy and was like "OMG ITS BEEN FOREVER" and he was just going along with it laughing saying "omg it has been foreverrr, wayy too long". Once I realized it was him it was the same laughing "its been too long". We laughed and joked about that for a few days, it was great. I am just so glad I got to be apart of his life again. Now it just seems so unreal, I sit there on facebook just waiting for him to get online but he's not. He was an absolutely amazing friend with a big heart and one of the bravest soldiers I know<3, a true hero.

He was a big brother to all of those he loved, and a hero to absolutely every American. No one will understand why this had to happen, but to know he died doing what he loved every day just brings out the courage and bravery he had. We love you and miss you Blair. To the Thompson family - you are ALL in my prayers. I know he's watching over us all every day, because protection is what he does.
