Obituary of William R. Pratt

William "Bill" R. Pratt, age 64, of Lee Center, passed away May 14, 2010, at home with his loving family at his side. He was born January 23, 1946, in Rome, a son of Lyle and Pauline Weibel Pratt, and educated in West Leyden schools. Bill was united in marriage to the former Katherine Nellenback, on October 5, 1963, in St. Mary's Church in West Leyden. Bill was employed at Rome Strip Steel for over 42 years, and was co-owner of Pratt Brothers General Contracting Co., with his brother, Bob, for over 30 years. He was a member of the Lee American Legion Post 1794, Sons of the Legion. Bill enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and snowmobiler. He was a loving husband and proud father, truly enjoyed entertaining all the family at his home. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kathy; three daughters, Patricia Ann Ireland Pratt of Rome, Angelica Lee Lint of Rome, and Kelly Ireland Pratt of Rome; son in law, Christopher Lint of Boonville; granddaughters, Amanda Joy Pratt of Oneonta, and Alexis Pratt Lint of Boonville; a sister and brother in law, Janet and Herman Kirk of Rome; four brothers and sisters in law, Norman and Mary Lou Pratt of Lee Center, Robert and Viola Pratt of Ava, Donald and Nancy Pratt of Turin, and Roger and Donna Pratt of Whitesboro; a sister in law, Carol Seelman of West Leyden; brothers in law and sisters in law, Leon and Joyce Nellenback of Linthicum, MD, Edmund and Bette Nellenback of Remsen, Richard and Patricia Nellenback of Rome, and Barry and Lorna Nellenback of Linthicum, MD. He was predeceased by a grandson, William Lint and two brothers in law, Charles and Cecil Nellenback. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM, at Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Lee. Relatives and friends may call at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Monday 4 to 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic.
