Nancy Ann (Bingham) Jones, 69, of Rome, has gone to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 19, 2010 after a long illness. She was born January 30, 1941, in Rome, the daughter of Russell L. and Mabel F. Simons Bingham. She was a 1959 graduate of Rome Free Academy and was employed at RADC on Griffiss Air Force Base for 30 years retiring in 1996. Nancy was a devoted wife and mother giving her time raising her two children. She loved family time playing cards and board games, attending the children's field trips and school functions and taking vacations every summer. On November 19, 1966, she entered into marriage with Doug Jones, Sr. She was the love of his life. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Doug; daughter, Wendi Jones; son Doug Jones, Jr. and daughter-in-law Karen (Sullivan) Jones; grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Justin Jones and Alyssa Jones. She is also survived by six sisters, Gloria (Donald) Hughes; Joy Bingham, June (Dean) Austin; Barbara Leszczynski, all from Rome, NY; Loretta (Leonard) Yager, Concord, OH; Sheila (Vern) Elmer, Rome, NY and a brother Russell (Linda) Bingham, Centennial, CO. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday 4 to 7 PM, prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers please consider the needs of the family.
