Lucy Longo Rome Lucy Longo, age 89, of Rome, passed away April 3, 2010, in Rome Memorial Hospital after a long illness, with her loving family at her side. She was born June 24, 1920, in Rome, a daughter of Adolph and Generosa DeLilli Barone, and educated in Rome schools. Lucy was united in marriage to Harry L. Longo, on July 4, 1946, in Rome; he died October 14, 2008. She worked for many years with her husband, Harry at their Uptown 5 & 10 Store, and later at the former Carls Drug Store. She was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist. Lucy was a loving caregiver for her family, and cherished every moment and memory she shared with her family. Lucy is survived by her daughter, Lucille Castro of Riverview, FL; a son and daughter in law, Harry D. and Jean Longo of Utica; grandchildren, Jim Castro and Christine Longo; and great grandchildren, Dalton, Sydney, Sierra and Jimmy Castro; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son in law, Edmund Castro and four brothers, Anthony, Silvio, Samuel and Mario Barone. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. John the Baptist. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association of CNY. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
