Sandra J. DeGennaro, age 70, of Rome, passed away peacefully at her home, on January 19, 2019.
She was born January 21, 1948, in Rome, a daughter of the late James and Laura Bush. She graduated from Rome Free Academy and later graduated from MVCC with a Licensed Practical Nurse degree. Sandra was united in marriage to Raymond A. DeGennaro on May 19, 1972, at the Church of St. John the Baptist. She formerly worked at CNYDSO in Rome, until her retirement.
Dear Buddy---I will always remember every moment I spent with you, and cherish it for rest of my life. You were my hero and never disappointed me once. Wife, mother, and an unbelievable person, you need to know just how good you were and are. I will love you till the day I die.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Ray; three sons and two daughters in law, Darren and Cheryl DeGennaro of Merritt Island, FL, Corey and Trinity DeGennaro of Charlotte, NC, and Michael DeGennaro of Rome; a sister, Patricia Cooke; grandchildren, Sophia and Kiera DeGennaro; and nieces, Chrissy and Missy.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 4:00 PM, at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday from 2 to 4 PM, prior to the funeral service.
