Josephine I. Rickard, age 98, of Rome, passed away peacefully, July 4, 2012.
She was born February 26, 1914, in Rome, a daughter of James and Eva Crimm VanDresar, and educated in Rome schools. Josephine was united in marriage to William M. Rickard, on November 21, 1940, in St. Mary of the Assumption Church; he died October 6, 1986. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
Josephine loved to travel with her husband to special events especially fireman conventions. She loved her family dearly, and always treated her many nieces and nephews as though they were her own children or grandchildren.
Josephine is survived by her many cherished nieces and nephews; and a special brother in law, Howard Meyers of Ava. She was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Havens, Thelma Getbehead, and Janice Meyers and brothers, Charles, Gerald, James and Elwood VanDresar.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:30 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
