Dennis J. Finster Town of Annsville Dennis J. Finster, age 58, of the Town of Annsville, passed away peacefully June 14, 2015, at Rome Memorial Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born June 27, 1956, a son of Frederick and Carol VanWagenen Finster and graduated from Rome Free Academy. Dennis was united in marriage to the former Mary Larkin on August 25, 1979 in Lee Center, NY. He was a machinist, retiring from Revere Copper Products in 2014 after 37 years of service. Dennis took great pride in a job well done both at work and at home. Dennis loved the natural beauty of the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, coaching and watching baseball and "puttering". He was an active member of the Point Rock Fish and Game Club and Taberg Trailblazers Snowmobile Club. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Mary; a daughter, Erin Lee Finster of Taberg; a son and daughter in law, Shawn and Danielle Finster of Lee Center; 2 cherished grandchildren who brightened their Poppy's world, Camryn Lila and Jackson Liam; his mother, Carol of Lee Center; father in law and mother in law, Thomas Jr. and JoAnn Larkin of Lee Center; a sister and brother in law, Debora and Daniel Williamson of Ava; brother and sister in law, Douglas and Sharon Finster of Lee Center; sisters in law and brothers in law, Mary and Joseph Healt of Forestport, Thomas III and Evelyn Larkin of Lee Center, and Jeffrey and Deborah Larkin of Penn Run, PA; nieces and nephews, Tess, Claire, Adam, Kyle, Kara, Elijah, Ana, Ethan, J. T., Danny, Sara, Matthew, Maureen, Joey and Steven. He was predeceased by his father, Frederick and a niece, Makayla Williamson. Dennis touched many people's hearts with his calm nature and, in addition to his family, leaves many dear and treasured friends. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 6:00 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday 2 to 6 PM, prior to the service. Our family would like to thank Shirley Smith, Ramona, Nina, and Jody along with the rest of the staff of 2 East and 2 North at Rome Memorial Hospital for their kindness and compassion during the most difficult week of our lives.
