Obituary of Robert M. Little

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert M, Little, age 89, of Lee, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024.

He was born in Rome, N.Y. on April 22, 1934, to the late Kenneth Little and Margret Scanlon Birley. He attended Rome schools and in 1958 married Mary T. Dorn at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Taberg, N.Y., a blessed union of 36 years until mom’s death in 1994.

During the Korean War, dad served in the 11th and 82nd Airborne Army divisions. After being honorably discharged from the Army, dad worked at Revere Cooper and Brass for 17 years. In 1970 he started Bob’s TV, a successful business he ran and operated for over 10 years. In 1982 he accepted a position at Griffiss Air Base with the 485th Engineering Installation Group, installing air traffic control landing systems, retiring in 1994. This position allowed mom and dad to travel the world, exploring many exciting places like Germany, Belgium, and Iceland.

Dad enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and would spend numerous hours tending to his garden, which brought him much happiness. He also enjoyed playing the harmonica and would play for anyone who asked. In his later years, he loved going to the casino and seeing many old friends while playing the slots. He loved animals, especially cats who he cherished.

All that he did, however, never surmounted to who he was as a man, husband, father, and grandfather.  He was kind, sweet, patient, caring, loving and supportive, and was loved by everyone that knew him. He will be profoundly missed.

“Good night, good night until we meet again”
“Adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen 'til then”
“And though it's always sweet sorrow to part”
“You know you'll always remain in my heart”

“Good night, sleep tight and pleasant dreams to you”
“Here's a wish and a prayer that every dream comes true”
“And now 'til we meet again”
“Adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen”
“Good Night!”
