Daniel J. Baran, age 87, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2021.

Dan was born in Rome to the late Daniel and Anna Romeau Baran and educated in the Rome Schools. On June 30, 1956, he was united in marriage to the former Beverly Wallace; a blessed union of nearly 63 years until her passing on May 18, 2019. He worked as a welder for Pettibone and was also a mechanic at Birnie Bus.

Dan enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, hunting, and fishing, and shared a love of gardening with Bev. He could also be found in his garage tinkering on different odd-end jobs. He always loved being with his family and making special memories with them.

Dan is survived by his sister, Julie Knorr; a brother, Michael (Jean) Baran; a nephew/godson, Timothy (Jeannine) DeWolf; a niece/goddaughter, Holly (Randy) Falker and a sister-in-law, Shirley Boiko.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12, to 2 PM prior to the funeral.
