Joan Brazinski, age 68, of the Town of Western, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 30, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Joan was born in Utica, on March 15, 1953 to the late Wesley and Margaret (Humphrey) Dousharm. On July 4, 1971, she was united in marriage to Douglas Brazinski. She worked in the family business as Vice President of Caldwell Bennett, Inc.

Joan enjoyed gathering with friends and family in the Adirondacks, snowmobiling, hunting, hiking, creating her extensive perennial gardens, doting on her grandchildren, hosting parties, and sharing family traditions.

She is survived by her loving husband, Doug; two sons, Paul (Bonnie) Brazinski of New Hartford, and Brian Brazinski of Rome; five grandchildren, Audrey, Aaron, Mena, Cole, and Carter; a brother, Robert (Mary) Dousharm; her brother in law, David (Marilyn) Brazinski, niece, Kristin and nephew, Scott; and her mother in law, Viola Brazinski. She was predeceased by her father in law, Edwin Brazinski, and close friends Jimmy Holmes and Bill Clary.

Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Thursday from 3 to 6 PM. A private family prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
