Obituary of Frank A Dennis
Frank A Dennis of Blossvale, NY passed away April 24, 2021 after a very long, daily fight with Alzheimer’s.
Frank was born October 15, 1948 in Dunn, North Carolina. He was the youngest of eight children. After graduating from Erwin High School, he joined the United States Air Force. His first assignment was Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV. While in Las Vegas, he met the love of his life, Alice Williams Dennis. They were married in 1969 and shared a happy 52 years together before she passed in 2020. They traveled the world together as Frank was stationed in such places as Virginia, Japan, Montana, California and Germany. He retired at Griffiss AFB and went on to work for Montgomery Ward, MBCI and Family Dollar.
He loved traveling back home to North Carolina every year with his brother James to visit the orphanage he spent some time growing up in, Barium Springs. Frank was known for his silly jokes. If you ever got a silly birthday card, you knew he picked it out.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Tricia Darling and her husband, Thomas, and Jennifer VanValkenburgh and her husband, David; six grandchildren, Kevin and his wife, Sharon, Christopher and his girlfriend, Ashley, Matthew and his wife, Krista, Jason Xavier and his wife, Kyle, and Breeanne and her boyfriend, Michael; six great grandchildren, Benjamin, Emily, Caiden, Isaac, Emma, and Jaxson; and his two brothers, Gene, and James and his wife, Boni.
The family wishes to thank hospice and the VA for all of their help. The family also wishes to express their love to Jennifer, David and Jason for spending the past year taking care of dad/pop/grandpa. Words can never express how much we all appreciate you and what you did to make sure he was in his own home and safe.
Per Frank’s request, there are no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
