Obituary of Gary J. Rogers
Gary J. Rogers, Sr., age71, of Lee Center, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2021, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a brief illness.
Gary was born in Rome on August 1, 1949 to the late Gilbert and Doris Klossner Rogers and graduated from Rome Free Academy. On July 6, 1968, he was united in marriage to the former Linda Martin at the Lee Center United Methodist Church. Gary worked as a plant manager for Sears Oil Co.
Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughters, Jacquelyn (Roger) Houle of Lee Center, and Jaime (Gerald) Kucharek of Lee Center; his son, Gary (Kathleen) Rogers, Jr. of Lee Center; cherished grandchildren, Michael (fiancée Ashley) LaGasse, Kristen LaGasse, Jonathan and Samuel Houle, Joseph and Jayson Kucharek, Joshua (Joy) Rogers, Jacob and James Rogers, and Jonathan (Jenifer) Rogers; four great grandchildren, Elijah, Haley, Connor, and Jaxson; his sister, Geraldine Rogers Cadrette of Montgomery, AL; and Gilbert (Deborah ) Rogers, Jr. of Blossvale.
Gary was a liver recipient and firmly believed in the gift of Organ Donation. In Gary’s memory, please consider becoming an organ donor and passing on the gift of life to someone in need.
Gary’s funeral will be held on Sunday at 4 PM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM, prior to the funeral. Those attending must have a facial covering, adhere to the social distancing guidelines, and only a limited number of people will be allowed in at a time.
