Obituary of Gary L. Milliman
Gary L. Milliman age 62, of Rome, unexpectedly passed away on November 3, 2020 at Rome Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 12, 1958 in Oneida, NY, son of the late Everett Milliman and Ruth Parker. Gary was currently employed at the New York State School for the Deaf. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1980.
Gary loved trivia, movies, music, taking pictures and traveling. He was an avid collector of many things from pocket knives to Hot Wheels. He was a kind-hearted, compassionate soul and treasured by all who knew him. He captured our hearts with his uncanny quirkiness, wit, and pranks. Gary’s own needs were secondary to the needs of others. He tended to us with his love, devotion, and respect. We are so broken – YOU will always be in our hearts and thoughts!
Gary leaves behind a very long time love, Donna Abreu, whom he called “Punky,” and the Abreu family who loved him dearly. He is also survived a sister, Betty Milliman; brothers, Allan Kentner, and Jim Milliman and his wife; daughters, Catrina Milliman, Meghan Stoetzel, and their spouses; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two nephews, Brenden J. Powell and James Milliman. He also leaves behind our canine baby girl, Tinka, and yes, our cats.
Gary, “With all my love today and forever, I will always love you Gar” — Love you so very much, Donna.
“Thank you for the laughter”
