Darlene M. Chudyk, age 67, of Rome, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2020.

She was born April 12, 1953, in Rome, the daughter of the late Alexander and Doretha (Tyler) Chudyk. Darlene graduated from Rome Catholic High School and attended MVCC. She worked for Oneida County Social Services, retiring after many years of service. She was a former member of St. Mary’s church.

Darlene was a steadfast and passionate person. She loved camping and being outdoors, especially in the Adirondacks. Her hobbies of crafting, gardening, cards, and fishing gave her great joy. She had a fondness for colonial history. Darlene was always happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved, and will be fondly remembered for her special ability to make everyone feel welcome. She had a warrior’s soul and a mother’s heart.

Darlene is survived by her children, Heather Coyne, Dominique Thrasher, Mary Deskins, and Edward Chudyk; her companion, Roger Britton; a brother, Wayne Chudyk; and grandchildren, Rachel and Kate Thrasher, Kathleen Farr, and Kevin Britton.
